Fang
It
was a dark and stormy night . . .
So
sitting in the cabin of her boat was not making it any easier. The heavy rains were earlier this year, and
caught Kim just when she needed to get down the coast. “Well Fang, I guess its better here at
anchor, then trying to fight the storm.” she said.
When
she found Fang two years ago, she had been a small abandoned husky, orphaned
when her mother was killed by two hunters.
The bastards had shot her mother out of fun, and were just kicking the
little pup around.
She
had seen it all.
The
two men came laughing into the saloon, dragging Fang’s mother along with a
heavy, dirty, rusted chain around her neck.
The little pup was trying to keep up and one of the hunters kicked her
in the rump. That sent both hunters into
laughter.
That
was also when everything 'came loose' for Kim.
"Hey,
you sons-of-bitches, leave the dogs alone." She said over their
laughter. Well, that really quieted the
saloon down as everyone turned to see who said the words.
"What?"
Said Don, the taller of the two hunters.
"Who said that?" as he turned around and looked in Kim's
direction.
"Hey
Bitch! You talking to me.“ He continued. “Nobody tells big Don what he can do,
or not do with his dogs, got it? So shut
your mouth or leave."
"I
said leave the dogs alone, or answer for it!" Kim calmly said.
That
was all everyone in the saloon needed to hear to get them moving away from Kim
and the hunters, some even made it to the door, and were out in a flash.
"Now
wait a minute." shouted Lou the bartender, "Don't go starting any
fights in here.”
“You
shut the hell up Lou, or I'll wipe your face off with my boots." Don screamed back without taking his eyes off
Kim. "Colin, keep Lou out of
this."
Not
too dumb, thought Kim, as Don continued watching her closely.
"Hey
Bitch, this is my dog and I can do whatever I want to her!" With that comment, Don drew his gun, looked
down at the dog, and the shot the Husky in the head.
Then
he started to raise the gun in Kim's direction.
